Hempstead House, Sands Point Preserve Conservancy
Designed by architects Hunt & Hunt and built for Howard Gould, the building was completed in 1912 and sold to Daniel Guggenheim who renamed it Hempstead House. During WWII it was turned over the the U.S. Government and then finally deeded to Nassau County in 1971. It is just one of several castle-like structures at this wondrous park.

Cathedral of the Incarnation, Garden City, NY
The centerpiece of Garden City, New York, the Cathedral of the Incarnation opened its doors on April 9th, 1885. Cornelia Stewart funded the building of the Episcopal cathedral as a memorial to her husband, Alexander T. Stewart, known as "The Merchant Prince" for his successful development of department stores. When he passed away in 1876, Stewart was considered one of the three richest men in the United States, alongside Cornelius Vanderbilt and William B. Astor.
